What you describe may come here, to this country in 3,4,5 years? This is entirely possibly as we have seen enough people who actually believe this was our best choice for leader. It would be a terribly sad thing to leave one's country by practically force, no choice. We do seriously consider leaving the USA.

It's entirely possible. There's a difference here though: different states have different moods. I've always only lived in blue states, California, New Mexico, and now Massachusetts. I think one can survive here, and work for change in 2026. Unless everything comes crashing down, and then it may not matter where you are...

I think of the parallels to when Adolph slipped into power 1932 and how, year after year he eroded the democracy around him.

I can't wrap my head around it. Being from Germany, "Never Again" seemed like an unshakeable, fundamental truth. What is very troubling: Project 2025 didn't come from nowhere, there's the Powell Memo from 1971, Reagan, and of course all the fundamental christian BS. AND, of course, the insane wealth of a few individuals. Well, you know all this; I can't stop ranting, once I start.

I've been watching our country's economy do its various dances these past 40 years and more. I began my studies in economics in 1979 at the London School of Economics and finished my MBA in Boston in 1988. As I see it, and most anyone who has been watching this slowly crashing economy, we are in late empire collapse, the joy of over stretched empire building, a defense budget 10x any other country. We have 800 military bases all around the world. We have wrecked the governments of dozens of countries and we in nearly 37 trillion of debt with almost no discussion of it anywhere by either party, much less any real plan to reduce it sensibly. What we are watching is a rapid looting of what remains of our "treasury" and dump is the perfect man for the job, heartless, callous, unthinking, unfeeling, endlessly greedy. If you have any savings, place them in precious metals for these next few years. Ours, what little we have, is in silver. yer pal, Wes.

Ouch... you're saying that dump and (f)elon are just the dots on the i, that we've been moving toward collapse for quite a while now. Makes sense. Maybe with Kamala it would have been slowed down, but not stopped or reversed... One feels a tad helpless...

On that topic, I feel the same way you do. All civilizations rise and fall, Rome, Greece, Portugal, Holland, Spain, France, Germany, England and now the US (and hundreds more). So much is tied to war making which is inevitably followed by money printing.
