Thank you, Cynthia -- hard to put into practice. I have no trouble with non-human animals, even the ones I don't particularly LOVE, such as mosquitoes, I'd never say I'd HATE them. They're not evil; a lion killing a zebra is not evil. WHERE does evil come from.
i'll go with the buddha guy / first to sustain my own equanimity but also to provide a better alternative to the current cultural malaise / that's how i see it happening / all this will be exposed as nasty brutish and painful and there must be a better way / those of us who are discovering our buddha nature will shine out as a definitely infinitely better way / find your heart and feel it stupid humans / way better / nicely done / balance between outrage and cool assessment of better options
I think it comes from people not loving themselves.
That sounds right...
Thanks for writing this, Jessica, for reminding us about love.

and thanks for mentioning martin luther king jr. and gandhi / two people who had a big influence on my life
Yes, I admire them too. And John Jewis, you should read his memoir, they PRACTICED nonviolence, definitely NOT easy!
Yeah I hope you're right; sure, there's a better way, but so many humans don't see it. I'm not quite as equanimous (is this a word? Looks wrong).
equinanimous ??
Yes. So missed.
