I have been watching two series set in Austria. Funny, the day before I saw this I had wondered where your mother lived in Austria and how your parents met. I was happy to see picture of your mother. I can see where you got your beauty. Missing you in Berkeley. ♥️
Such an honest and relatable reflection on the experience of moving! It's refreshing to read about the emotional complexities that come with transitioning from one space to another. You’ve captured the bittersweet nature of moving so well — the excitement of change mixed with the nostalgia of leaving familiar spaces behind. Thank you for sharing your journey and thoughts; it’s comforting to know that others feel this way too during such a significant life change
Thank you for your kind comment! I moved from New Mexico just about one year ago, left on 10/1/23 driving this big moving van, and my dog Max on the passenger seat. Am still recovering...
fascinating travelogue / i remember that phase of life when i could throw a few boxes in the back of the truck and move to arizona or colorado / may you find your home within and be comfortable wherever your adventure takes you
Yes, come to think of it, I never ended up anywhere I didn't like. On the contrary. San Francisco/Bay Area, and now Santa Fe and northern New Mexico, and soon New England and Boston -- people go there for a short vacation and then go home. And I chose to live there -- for a while. 😉
Oh yes. There was curfiew after 8 pm (? not sure I remember correctly) in Vientiane and one couldn't leave the city by bus or car, only by airplane. Quite a number of GIs, and there were rumors that the CIA was involved with smuggling opium... 😉 Thanks!

Interesting for sure, Jessica .
Thanks, Bonnie!
Very interesting to hear all that. In the Mekong River area, was the US presence, war time still occurring? Looking forward to the rest of the story.

Enjoyed this and look forward to part II. THX again 👍😊
Thanks, Anna! I like the lilies!
