yes we need a paradigm shift / yes factory farming is horrible / we live so disconnected from nature that it's hard to generate any empathy for the animals / they're just a cute picture on the side of the carton

True enough; what people buy in the meat department of supermarkets doesn't look like animals at all. Eggs and milk -- nobody knows HOW they end up in cartons.

Beautifully written and stated...

The words on the back of your t-shirt fit nicely into the four stoic virtues of wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice - all of the points on the shirt are things that fall under our control...and they make so much sense.

Thanks Jack, they fall under our control, they make sense, AND they're essential for humanity's survival, seems to me. That's why I'm so impressed with our friend the Pirate Ben (https://thebarracks.substack.com/) who LIVES those words. Wish I could join you all this summer!

I always loved Cory Booker for his being a vegan:) Especially as so many say it’s unhealthy & big guys can’t live on it.

I agree. It was much worse 20 years ago; people were sure you'd be dead after six months on a vegan diet ;).

I forgot to mention that there are a number of scientists who work from a "We're all connected" premise. They are essential for a paradigm change. I will continue to write about them.
